Interactive Playgrounds and Public Art

Interactive play spaces are a great way to encourage creativity and imagination.

Ironbark Playgrounds work collaboratively on large projects for councils, charities or developers to create spaces for the community.

They are unique developments to engage both children and adults, providing a fun and creative environment for all.

Carved totems certainly look different to the mass-produced playgrounds you find all over Australian. A little forest of totems perfectly suited to its environment, invites kids of all ages to have a scramble.

Often our job is to create an interactive playscape to form part of a bigger playground.

At Yambe Reserve, our plan was to create a virtual forest – made up of carved totem poles of spotted gum, yellow box and ironbark timber – to sit in a bed of sandstone rocks and native plants. Running through them, a series of spiralling pathways would allow access for kids with disability.

A playground should not dictate how a child should play.
